I wake up tangled around Murphy and smile. Never have I spent the night with a woman before, I always have them leave. Everything that is happening with Murphy is the complete opposite of the guy I usually am. The way she felt in my arms while we had sex and as we laid in bed made me think I could possibly be falling for her. I asked her if she’d been in love, and as she described that emotion I felt that is what is happening to me. It shocked me and yet filled me with a sense of pure happiness. The idea of being with one woman was something I never wanted, I avoided. Until her.

She stirs in her sleep bringing me back to the present, and I decide to let her sleep while I go see if there is anything to make for breakfast. Getting out of bed as slowly as I can, I grab my boxers and jeans before leaving the bedroom. I slip them on then check her fridge and cabinets for food. I decide to make pancakes and bacon and pull everything out.

I’ve got everything going and realize I left my phone in my truck. I quickly make my way out there and bump into Bess and Herbert. They’re a great couple, but nosy as shit. I’m sure they have been hanging around since they noticed my truck. “Morning,” I say when they both look at me.

“Morning, Hunter. What are you doing here,” Herbert asks.

“Who is staying here,” Bess chimes in.

“Well it’s none of your business, but I stayed the night.” I close the door to my truck and walk toward the house.

“But who is staying here?” Bess shouts as I reach the door. I don’t bother answering because they will find out by the end of the morning anyway, so I get back to making breakfast.

Just as I’m plating everything I feel Murphy’s arms wrap around my waist. “Good morning,” she says before placing a kiss on my back.

I spin around and pull her to me, loving the feel of her. I kiss her nose and smile. “Morning. How did you sleep?”

“I slept great, best I have in a long time,” she says smiling back.

“Me too. Are you hungry?”

We make our plates and go sit on the deck to eat. Even with her hair a mess and my t-shirt on, hey my t-shirt…“Nice shirt,” I say giving her a wink, she is still breathtaking.

She throws her head back laughing and looks over at me. “Well you did leave it here, so I thought I’d better use it. Plus, it’s comfortable.”

I grin and lean over to kiss her lips. “Keep it.”

After we finish our breakfast, we clean up the mess then settle on the deck with fresh coffee. Murphy has fallen silent, and I wonder what she’s thinking. Just as I open my mouth to ask, she says, “Hunter?” I raise my eyebrows and her cheeks get a hint of pink. “What happened the first night we met? The real story.
